8 years since my last journal entry. Peeking in here is weird for me. I look back fondly on my time spent on dA. Sharing photos, reading and writing comments, gathering inspiration... and of course hanging out in the Photographers chat room. That was my favorite; meeting people, learning things, having fun, and being a troll. It was usually bustling with a combination of the regulars and newcomers and I don't have any idea how many hours I spent in there. I'm pretty sure I had the most lines of chat sent one year and remember being proud of that. Regardless of how much I goofed around I learned an incredible amount from the others in that chat room. While I basically haven't looked at dA in 8 years I think about the time I spent there and the people I shared that time with surprisingly often. Now there's nobody in there. It actually took me a while to figure out how to locate dAmn chat at all, and there's hardly anyone in any channel. I can't say I'm surprised to see it dead but I

I'm really tired of seeing a journal entry from a year ago, so I figured I'd write a small update of what's been going on lately.. Been riding snowmachines a lot in the winter, at least once a week.. good times! But now it's summer. I'm starting a camera gear rental business up here in Alaska, and I'm pretty stoked to have a ton of exotic lenses to play with when they're not being used. Other summer projects include a giant hammock suspended in the trees 20 feet above the ground in my backyard, fixing the leaky hot tub I got for free, making a sauna, and turning an old snowmachine engine into a nuts go kart. Any other suggestions? :D

First off, snowmobiling Sunday was fun. Not as good as the last time we got up to eureka, we took a couple (less experienced) riders with us.. they got stuck a bit more often, and we had some mechanical issues. Anyways, last night I had the idea for this shot here :thumb198402800: I spent about half an hour trying to get that shot, which is a good thing. It's been a long time since I've came up with the idea for a photo, and spent a while figuring out how to get it how I wanted it. It's still not exactly how I want it, but it's good enough for now. Perhaps I'll revisit the concept sometime in the future. The point is, it was nice to feel
