lol this whole since you guys suggested stuff ive been looking at cameras but ive gotta ask,and proove how much of a newbie i am...is optical zoom like macro or really great long distance zoom??hahah sorry XD

Optical zoom is for distance. It's the only real specification to care about when it comes to zoom. Ignore digital zoom, as digital zoom is the same as opening the picture and photoshop and zooming in. It degrades the quality of the photo and is basically useless.
